Used under sole license by Selle Royal, RoyalgelTM is an exclusive gel patented by Bayer Material Science in Germany. RoyalgelTM is a polyurethane matrix material that is injected directly under the saddle cover during the production process. It is the only gel which does not age, harden or migrate. It is clearly distinctive from all other gel materials for a simple reason: other types of gel are molded with a honeycomb structure, using hard, but elastic compact materials, which do not deform, but simply collapse under weight. Hence, it does not provide the modular adaptation quality of RoyalgelTM. Scientific tests have proven that RoyalgelTM padding reduces pressure on the pubis and ischial areas by up to 40% compared to other gel and non-gel saddles to provide the maximum level of comfort through better weight distribution across its entire surface.
